Volunteers

The heart and soul of VOWR radio is its all-volunteer staff.  A group of 75-80 men and women operate the station on a round-the-clock and year-round basis, carrying out the many and varied functions that make a radio station a successful operation.

To the many VOWR listeners, it is not always apparent just how much is involved in bringing 24 hour-a-day quality radio listening.  Our volunteers include operators who 'feed' the system, technicians that maintain studio and transmitting equipment, record librarians, computer operators, programmers, personnel who prepare daily log sheets, and those who perform numerous other functions such as announcement writing, sponsorship sales, invoicing and accounting, secretarial, scheduling of staff, administration and supervision. The list of duties is extensive!
