You Can Help Support VOWR

Although VOWR is completely run by volunteers, there are still many expenses associated with running a modern day radio station 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  As VOWR has, from its very beginning been run by volunteers, it has derived its support from the generous donations from the public, business community and various religious denominations. VOWR Radio gratefully acknowledges and appreciates the continued financial support of its listeners that have allowed the station to stay on the air since 1924.

How Can You Help?

There several ways you can help support VOWR:

Individual Donations

Much of VOWR's financial support comes from donations made by individual listeners, religious denominations and other organizations. Financial donations are gratefully accepted in the form of cheques or money orders and may be mailed to the station at the following address. Donations In Memoriam

Upon the death of a loved one, family and friends often make donations in the memory of the deceased, either at their request or in response to a suggestion of donations to the charity of one's choice.  Donations are often  made in a similar fashion annually, in memory of a friend or family member who may have passed away some time ago. This is especially appropriate if the deceased was a listener of VOWR. The names of all those who make  In Memoriam donations are broadcast weekly on VOWR and the family of the deceased will receive a notification from VOWR that a memorial donation has been made. If you wish to make an In Memoriam donation you can download the appropriate form by the link below and completing the information. Then submit the form by mail with payment (cheque or money order - please do not send cash) to:

To further offset expenses, VOWR actively raises funds for its operation primarily  through a radio auction, held annually since 1947. The radio auction features every imaginable item from baked goods, donations of products from businesses, local delicacies of fish and game, all auctioned off in a special broadcast with the willing public telephoning in bids on their favorite items. The VOWR Radio Auction is held annually in the month of October. The date will be publicized well in advance on VOWR. By bidding on items you would like to purchase, you help VOWR raise funds as well!
